C-West Proud To Be Named Winner Of The 2019 Global Shop Product Design Competition

Calgary, Alberta – C-West Custom Fixtures (C-West) is pleased to announce that it was selected as the winner in the Fixtures category in the 2019 GlobalShop Product Design Competition. IIDA (The Commercial Interior Design Association), a globally focused design association presented the award for the new and innovative product, the Fragrance Fixture, that has the potential to revolutionize the perfume sample market.

The award was in recognition for fixture design which respects the customer experience, the integrated technology (Paperscent), and the brand and product (Juliette Has a Gun). The Fragrance Fixture cuts consumption of testing bottles by 6 times, providing increased recovery on brand’s tester investment. Bottles are stored within the fixture to prevent any damage or theft while still providing the customer with a free sample to promote sales. Scent spray in the air is reduced by 90%, improving air quality in the retail environment. Interaction with the scent strips triggers video, sound, and customer engagement (winning tickets, coupons, etc.).

All product entries were judged by a jury of design professionals, including Mark Johnson, principal, Johnson Design Group; Olivia Lindenmayer, IIDA, senior associate, Antunovich Associates; and Kristina Michelsen, IIDA, senior designer, CallisonRTKL.
“The submissions we saw this year seek to transform the retail environment, prioritize customer engagement, and change the way we shop,” said Michelsen on behalf of the jury. “We extend our sincerest congratulations to all of the category winners.”
